Solar opponents sometimes work with elected officials to coordinate opposition to solar. Here's an example from DeKalb County. Click video to play.

If You Want Solar You Have to Show Up

Opponents of solar will be there – we can’t be missing in action!

Your DeKalb County Commissioners are Holding a Hearing on FEBRUARY 27 on potential changes to the county’s solar ordinance.

The Solar Opposition Strategy is to Overwhelm County Hearings…here’s an example:

Anti-Solar activist talking about her conversation with the president of her County Commissioners:

“I asked Bill [president of the Commissioners] how we stop these solar panels from coming to DeKalb County, and he told me we have to show up in numbers and large numbers and we have to protest it and we have to raise a fuss. He also said, because I asked him how he felt about allowing this type of environment to come to DeKalb County. And he said that he hopes we do show up and we hope he hopes that we do speak up against it…”

We need solar supporters like you to attend!

In 2021 the County spent a lot of time and effort to enact a solar ordinance.  Your commissioners are now trying to change it, which will STOP solar development and all the good that comes with it. The Area Plan Commission JUST voted 8-1 against changing the ordinance – making it clear that the only reason it appears is to make changes is to stop solar.

The only way solar will move forward is if people like you show up at the hearing to let Commissioners know that DeKalb County residents support solar.
