Thank you - Can You Take Just One More Step to Support Property Rights?
Respect for individual property rights should be the foundation of Jasper County’s ordinance.
Our farmers know what’s best for their own land and we should trust them to make their own decisions about leasing their land for solar.
Jasper County government should not take options away from farmers who may need to diversify their income to survive.
When we trust farmers, they do better, and our communities prosper. Solar farms in Jasper County are anticipated to have a local economic output of more than $279 million over the next 30 years, according to Purdue University.

Hoosier Farmer James Ball:
“I come from a long line of farmers. People who own land should have all the rights to do whatever they choose on their own property! Most farmers I'm in contact with have inherited the land they farm handed down generation to generation. Those land owners especially should be respected and allowed to make any choice they see necessary on their own property without government's (fed., state and local) interference at all! It's how I feel no one will change that in me.”
