County commissioners should not give in to demands from anti-renewable, Not-in-My-Backyard (NIMBY) activists who are willing to strip farmers of their property rights in their efforts to stop renewables.

Petition text:

“We support the property rights of farmers and other landowners in our county and oppose restrictions or excessive local government regulations that take their rights away. This includes anti-renewable energy regulation that strips farmers of their rights to use their land as they fit. Both wind and solar development are opportunities for Hoosier farmers to diversify their income, support their families and bring economic development to their communities. Reasonable accommodations can be made to address the concerns of neighboring landowners without denying farmers of their rights.  We call on our county government to stand up for property rights and reject anti-renewable regulations that take those rights away.”
