The renewable energy opposition’s strategy is to make a sneak attack against renewables at the county level while climate activists focus on the board room, state capitols and Congress.
Anti-renewable activists stoke NIMBY fears, using misinformation about solar panels “ruining” farmland from chemicals “leaking” out of them (when no such risk exists), along with other myths.
They show up in large numbers at county government hearings, often shouting down their pro-renewable energy neighbors, and intimidating their elected officials.
